It’s already Spring in Korea now and I bet Cherry Blossoms (벚꽃) are everywhere! I remember back then when I went out with my mom, the tree at the bus stop was a 벚꽃나무 and I didn’t even know! There were petals scattered all around and it was really beautiful!!!!!
Sorry if the pictures are not that good because it was only taken through a cellphone camera. Last week my mom called and told me that it was snowing a lot just like what I saw on KBS World news. Though it was already Spring it was still snowing~ why? It’s called 꽃샘추위. 꽃 means flower, 샘 is also 질투하다 which means to be jealous and 추위 is also 춥다 means cold. Doesn’t make sense? My friend who taught me this word told me that Winter is jealous of Spring because it’s more beautiful than her that’s why it snows a lot in Spring’s first week. It’s really amazing, isn’t it?
The past days of studying Korean I finally found my weaknesses! It’s very important to know what you are not good at when you’re learning a language so you’ll be able to focus on them and correct mistakes and improve. I found out that I’m good in listening and reading because I often can comprehend in those area and I’m bad in writing in terms of making long sentences/paragraphs and speaking. I have to work on my weaknesses so I can be better and improve my skills so the past couple of days I’ve been practicing my writing skills in Learn Korean and Talk To Me In Korean.
One of my goals is to be able to write something long in Korean! I will definitely try and post something up in Korean.
